I'm pretty excited at the moment. I've started a new YA novel about a very different kind of supernatural being. They're not romantic and you definitely wouldn't fall in love with one and want to start a family of supernatural babies. I'm going for creepy and, let's face it, a bit repulsive. That's how I've always liked my supernatural, ever since I read M R James as a teenager and was too freaked out to get out of the bath. Serious pruning ensued.
So far it's coming really easily. I wake up early to get down the ideas that have come to me in the night. By early afternoon I'm tired out. It's too early to publish any bits, but I'm pleased with the way it's developing. I've never found it so easy to write. Long may it continue (pretty please, gods and muses in charge of writing?)
